Responsibilities:
As a Security Specialist, you will work with internal and external customers to recommend and perform appropriate actions required to mitigate losses and provide a positive customer experience.
You will investigate and research illegal, improper, or fraudulent activities by potential customers or employees of the organization.
In this role, you will work closely with digital banking services, retail banking, and other areas to help customers navigate situations involving suspected fraud.
What You'll Do:
Day in the Life - Your focus will be utilizing fraud software to aid in investigation of high-risk transactions across all payment channels to identify possible cases of fraud.
You will be supporting our internal and external customers in a variety of ways including answering incoming calls pertaining to fraud or potential fraud to/from all German American locations, working potential fraud cases, and acting as liaison to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies on matters related to illegal, improper, or fraudulent activity as needed.
You will also assist in pulling surveillance video footage as part of physical security duties.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related degree Work
Experience:

years' financial services experience with a basic understanding of fraud detection and prevention Skills in:
communicating effectively (both written and verbally across a diverse spectrum), maintaining confidentiality, working with speed and accuracy, meeting deadlines, grasping technical information quickly, working independently and as a team member, attention to detail, multi-tasking, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Bonus Points:
Previous customer service experience in a professional setting Bilingual Experience with Fraud detection software This role may require the ability to travel for early career training purposes.
Responsible for adhering to compliance laws, regulations, and established Bank policies and procedures, including SEC Compliance, Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
